These Banana Snickers are the best way to satisfy your chocolate fix with a healthy treat that’s ready in minutes. They're simply the best alternative to store-bought candy bars, hands down. The toughest part will be waiting for the chocolate to harden in the fridge.

Banana snickers made with a banana slice, peanut butter, and chocolate.

It doesn’t get any more simple than this; fresh bananas slathered with smooth peanut butter topped with chopped peanuts and then drizzled with dark chocolate; sweet, crunchy, and oh-so satisfying. I've been enjoying these on repeat lately!

If you enjoy making and eating, of course, these easy no-bake banana snickers, you may also love these Vegan Pecan Turtles, these Vegan Chocolate Covered Strawberries, or these Peanut Butter Cereal Bites.

Why You’ll Love This Banana Snickers Recipe

    • Super simple: It is so easy to make these vegan snickers and you don’t need any special equipment.
    • Only 4 ingredients: You may already have these 4 basic ingredients on hand. If not, it’s a really short shopping list.
    • Decadent: These homemade snickers taste super indulgent from the sweet bananas, creamy peanut butter, and delicious chocolate.
    • Healthy: No long list of hard-to-pronounce ingredients, just real food in these healthy peanut butter and banana treats.
    • Classic combination: There’s no other perfect match than banana with peanut butter. I am a big fan of making peanut and banana snacks and also make these Banana Bites often.

What You'll Need to Make These Vegan Snickers

    • Bananas: Use bananas that are just ripe but not too ripe.
    • Peanut butter: Use a natural, no sugar added, smooth peanut butter. Almond butter is a good substitute.
    • Peanuts: Chopped salted, or unsalted peanuts.
    • Dark chocolate: I like to use 70% or higher dark chocolate. You can use chocolate chips or baking blocks.

See the recipe card below for exact ingredient amounts, nutritional information, and detailed instructions.

    Variations

    • Change up the chocolate: Use semi-sweet or vegan milk chocolate instead of dark chocolate.
    • Switch the nuts: Try almond butter and chopped almonds instead of peanut butter. Or cashew butter and cashews would be super creamy and taste great as well.
    • Go nut-free: Substitute a seed butter like sunflower or pumpkin seed and use the corresponding seed.

    How to Make Banana Snickers

Here are the instructions on how to make these vegan Snickers treats.

Banana halves in a baking sheet to make vegan snickers.

Step 1: Prep the banana. Cut the banana in half, then slice each half in two and peel off the banana peel.

Spreading peanut butter on a half of banana.

Step 2: Add the peanut butter. Spread creamy peanut butter on top of each banana slice.

Adding nuts to the top of the peanut butter.

Step 3: Adding peanuts. Sprinkle chopped peanuts over the peanut butter.

Drizzling melted chocolate over the top.

Step 4: Add the chocolate. Drizzle melted dark chocolate over each banana,

Step 5: Refrigerate the bananas. Place the finished bananas in the fridge until the chocolate hardens, or enjoy right away! (I also topped mine with flakey salt)

    Serving Suggestions

This recipe for Banana Snickers is perfect for a healthy treat after any meal. Here are some great examples:

    • Pair it with this Vegan Caesar Salad and these Vegan Veggie Pinwheels.
    • Make for a dessert buffet along with Vegan Vanilla Cupcakes and these Thumbprint Cookies With Icing.
    • Make and serve with a glass of this refreshing Creamy Lemonade or this Dalgona Matcha Latte.

    Recipe Tips

    • Ripe bananas: Make sure your bananas are ripe, not too ripe or they’ll be mushy but ripe enough so they are sweet.
    • Thin the chocolate: If the dark chocolate isn’t pouring easily, add a touch of melted coconut oil.  Use unflavored coconut oil if you don’t want your Snickers to have a slight coconut flavor.
    • Use a food processor: I find the peanuts will stick best if they are in small chunks so throw them in the food processor for a few minutes until they are the right size. A mini chopper also works well.
    • Line your plate with parchment: Place the prepared bananas on a plate or tray lined with parchment so they don’t stick.
    • Storing: Leftovers keep in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1-2 days. Bananas that have already been cut up start to become brown quickly, so these are best enjoyed the same day.
    • Flash freeze: To freeze them, place them on a cookie sheet in the freezer to harden up before transferring them to a Ziploc bag or airtight container.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Can you make these ahead of time?

Since bananas become brown quite quickly after being exposed to air, I wouldn't recommend making these more than a day in advance. You can make them earlier in the day, however. Just make sure that you store them in an airtight container in the fridge before enjoying.

Can you freeze these banana treats?

Yes, you can! These peanut butter banana Snickers will keep well in the freezer for up to 3 months. Once frozen they are best enjoyed straight from the freezer frozen as the bananas will turn quite soft and mushy when thawed.
