This delicious small batch cinnamon rolls recipe is perfect for when you are craving cinnamon rolls, but you don't want to make a huge batch and don't have two hours on your hands. This vegan roll is perfect for one and made without yeast, so you don't need to wait for the yeast to set- it bakes in 15 minutes!

What you will need to make this recipe
Dough Ingredients
- flour: I used all purpose flour for this recipe. I also tried it with whole wheat flour, but I find that the texture is much better with all purpose flour. If you are gluten free, you can use a gluten free 1:1 baking flour. A good one is this one by Bob's Red Mill.
- baking powder
- sugar: any granulated sugar will work. I used coconut.
- dash of salt
- dairy free milk: any dairy free milk will work for this recipe. I like soy or oat.
- melted coconut oil: melt the coconut oil in the microwave for a few seconds before adding it to the batter.
- vanilla
Filling Ingredients
- coconut sugar: you can use another sugar if you'd like, but I love the taste of coconut sugar and I like that it has a lower glycemic index than other sugars.
- cinnamon
- melted coconut oil: to brush onto the cinnamon roll. You can also use vegan butter if you prefer.
Frosting Ingredients
- vegan cream cheese: the cream cheese frosting is one of my favorite parts of the roll! Here are some vegan cream cheese brands that I like: Kite Hill, Nature's Fynd, Daiya.
- sugar (I used powdered)- for the frosting I used powdered sugar so that the frosting looks white and because the fine texture of the powdered sugar mixes easily with the cream cheese. You can use another sugar or even maple syrup.
- dash of vanilla
- dash of salt
How to make this small batch cinnamon roll
To a bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, sugar, salt, milk, oil, and vanilla. Mix them well.
Place a small amount of flour on a large cutting board and spread the flour around. Using a rolling pin, roll out the dough in a long rectangular shape.
Coat the rolled out dough with a thin layer of coconut oil, then sprinkle on the cinnamon and sugar.
Roll up the dough into the shape of your cinnamon roll.
Place the roll in an oven safe dish. I baked mine in a small ramekin.
Bake the roll for about 15 minutes at 350F/ 175C.
While the cinnamon roll is baking, create the frosting. To a small bowl, combine the cream cheese, sugar, vanilla and salt and mix them well.
Once the roll is done baking and has cooled off, top it with the frosting and dig in😋

Hi! What are the amount of oil in the filling?
Gaby Dimova
I actually didn't measure, I just added enough to cover the inside of the roll but I would say probably 1/2 to 1 tbsp!

I dont have any sugar in at the moment, is there any substitute I could use instead?
