- Tropical: Choose mango and pineapple for the fruit topping. Then, add shredded or toasted coconut to the base, and sprinkle it on top of the frozen yogurt granola cups.
- Gluten-free: To make granola yogurt bites gluten-free, use certified gluten-free oats.
- Lemony: On top of the fruit and in the base, grate fresh lemon zest for a sunshine taste.
How to Make Frozen Yogurt Cups
These yogurt and granola cups come together with minimal effort in the kitchen and only a handful of steps. In fact, the hardest part is waiting for them to set in the freezer!

Step 1: Prep the Base. Mash the banana in a bowl and mix the oats, maple syrup, and peanut butter with it.

Step 2: Divide the Mixture. Divide the peanut butter base evenly in the silicone molds using 1-2 tablespoons in each. Gently press the granola into each cup firmly.

Step 3: Make the Yogurt & Layer the Cups. Combine the vegan yogurt, protein powder, and maple syrup in a bowl. Mix until it’s smooth. In each cup, add a dollop of yogurt mixture, roughly 3 tablespoons, to the granola.

Step 4: Top with Fruit: Top each cup with fresh fruit and place the yogurt cups in the freezer for 2-3 hours. Let the yogurt cups chill on the counter for 3-5 minutes before enjoying. I love them for lunch after eating a chickpea tuna salad sandwich.
Expert Tips
- Pressing the Granola: When portioning the granola base, press it firmly into the molds. The firmer it’s pressed, the better it will hold together when removed.
- Silicone Molds: These frozen yogurt fruit cups work best with silicone molds. With paper liners, it becomes too tricky to peel once frozen.
- Freezing: The yogurt cups need to be set in the freezer for a minimum of two hours.
- Storing: Once each frozen yogurt cup is set, remove them from the muffin tin and store them in an airtight container for 4-6 weeks.

Serving Suggestions
- Enjoy the yogurt cups as part of a healthy breakfast with chocolate protein pancakes or a cauliflower spinach green smoothie.
- Gain some energy by pairing a yogurt cup with a Dalgona matcha latte.
- Use them as a tasty snack along with a vegan chocolate muffin recipe.

Yes, you can make yogurt cups into popsicles by placing a popsicle stick, upright, into each mold. This allows for mess-free eating as the frozen yogurt cup begins to melt
Any yogurt can be used to make these yogurt cups. However, a thicker yogurt works best as it has less water and won’t crystallize as much as a thinner yogurt.
