Healthier Date Caramel Apple
Did you know you can make healthier caramel apples with just a few simple ingredients!?
Ingredients
Ingredients
- 1 apple
- 9 medjool dates
- melted dark chocolate
- crushed peanuts
Peanut Butter Layer
- 3 tablespoon peanut butter
- 1 tablespoon oat flour
- 1 tablespoon coconut oil
Instructions
- Wash and dry your apple, and stick a popsicle stick in the middle.
- Remove the pit from each date and lay flat on a piece of parchment paper. Line the 3 by 3 dates and place another piece of parchment paper on top.
- Use a rolling pin to roll the dates until you flatten them. Remove the top parchment paper.
- Place the apple in the middle and wrap the dates around it, making sure the whole apple is covered with dates. Remove the parchment paper.
- Mix the peanut butter, oat flour, and coconut oil, and microwave them for about 30 seconds, so they have a runnier consistency.
- Cover the date layer with a layer of peanut butter, then place in the freezer for at least an hour, so it can harden a little.
- Melt the chocolate and fully coat the apple in a layer of chocolate.
- Crush up some peanuts and coat the outside of the apple with them. Place in the fridge until the chocolate hardens.
- Slice and enjoy!
