If you are looking for a delicious way to spice up your toast, look no further! This peanut butter toast with caramelized bananas is such a delicious treat for breakfast or even as a dessert, and here is how to make it.
What you will need
Caramelized Banana Ingredients
- 1 banana
- 1 tablespoon coconut oil
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup
- ¼ teaspoon cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon vanilla
For Toast
- 2 pieces of toast
- peanut butter
- coconut shreds to top
Creating the peanut butter toast with caramelized bananas
- Start by slicing the banana. I recommend making the slices thick (about ¼"), so that they are easier to flip and do not fall apart.
- Then add the coconut oil, maple syrup, cinnamon, and vanilla to a pan and mix them well.
- Add the banana slices to the pan. Make sure you leave enough space in between them, so that they do not stick to each other.
- Cook the banana about about 3-5 minutes on each side. You can gently lift the bananas with a fork to check how far they have cooked, and flip them when they have caramelized to your liking.
- Once you are happy with how caramelized the banana are, flip them and cook on the other side.
- Slice and toast the bread and add the peanut butter.
- Add the caramelized banana slices and top with some coconut shreds.
