Peanut butter ice cream, but the vegan healthy version! This recipe is creamy, delicious and high in protein. It combines three of my all time favorite flavors- peanut butter, chocolate, and banana.

I was debating whether to call it a peanut butter smoothie or peanut butter ice cream. I think that either one works because this could both be a great breakfast option, or a healthy dessert!

What you will need:

The ingredients for this recipe are simple. All you will need are: two frozen bananas, 2 tbsp chocolate protein powder, 3 tbsp creamy natural peanut butter, and 4 tbsp of dairy free yogurt. Add a pinch of salt to bring out the sweet flavors. I also topped mine with a protein bar, fresh banana slices, and some coconut chips.

Make sure you slice and freeze your bananas overnight before you make this. Frozen bananas create a much creamier consistency when blending and make the whole recipe resemble the texture of ice cream. Of course, if you want a more liquid drinkable type of smoothie, skip this step.

Once you have all of your ingredients, all you need to do is throw them in a high speed blender and blend until everything is creamy and smooth. I like my smoothies really thick, so I start off by adding just a little bit of yogurt and slowly adding more as needed.

Ingredients

  • 2 frozen bananas
  • 2 tbsp chocolate protein powder
  • 3 tbsp peanut butter
  • 4 tbsp dairy free yogurt

Instructions

  • Place the frozen bananas, protein powder, peanut butter, and yogurt in a high speed blender.
  • If you want your ice cream to be creamier, start with 1-2 tbsp of yogurt, then slowly add more as you blend. Also make sure that your bananas are frozen for an extra creamy texture.
